In case you were waiting for confirmation...Both Patrick and I will be attending SDCC this year. You'll find me at the big giant booth in the middle with all the toys, and you'll find Pat, hopefully hanging out with you. We'll be at the Hyatt Wednesday - Sunday. We're not flying out until Monday night as we are planning some So Cal hijinx that are TBD. It's Pat's first time going to California. Hurray for expanding horizons.

i just reread my livejournal for 2001. MAN was i was so emo. my life was s00oo tragic 9_9. 19 year old me had some issues.

plans
I'm moving to Maryland. Probably not for another 2 years, or maybe for next summer, but I'm determined to make it there. I've finally decided what I want to do with my life, and the best place for me to reach my goal is in a town called Timonium. That's where the main offices for Diamond Comic Distributors is located. They are the largest comic distribution house in the US. That means most of the comics that get published flow through Diamond at some point.
See, I've always wanted to work in the comic book industry, and well, since I lack creative skills, I've gone the business route, concentrating in marketing, promotions, and sales. This is my second summer as a sales assistant at Wizard Entertainment; which is an incredibly convienent local business that also happens to put out some of the best selling trade publications for our industry. But...I don't want to work here for the rest of my life. Before I thought maybe I should try my luck at DC or Marvel, but I think Diamond would be best fitting for me. Why work for one company and get to read their comics early, when I could work at Diamond and read EVERYONES comics early. And if I worked for diamond, i would be working on my -ultimate- goal, which is basically getting more people to read comic books.

mine is a 2mm platinum mobius solid, his is 6mm in palladium.
in between there's 11 hours of fire, bending, sawing, filing, sanding and polishing. the day is chronicled here.
i want to wear it all the time.

4 wedding related gifts in individual boxes
1 snow blower
1 secret x-mas gift
1 duplicate but still usable x-mas gift
today pat and i spent 11 hours bending metal rods into the coolest pair of wedding bands on earth. pictures to follow once i get a hang of my new wedding related gift...

my dear friend tv came back to me last night. i could have done with only one hour of heroes though. i really didn't want to sit for three straight hours on the couch. the monday 8-9pm block on cbs is hands down my favorite hour of tv a week. and i really like tv.

9:35 am - every mommez' nightmare
|
when i was a baby my family had a mini schnauzer (like einey, minus the yorkie parts) and he died tragically as a result of injuries sustained from a run in with the local golden retriever. so you can imagine my fright when patrick calls me last night to tell me that einey got bit by another dog. my heart nearly stopped.
pat and einey were walking down the street when a big brown pit bull jumped out of a car in a driveway (unleashed) and ran up to einey. they did the typical butt sniff exchange, and then the pit bull started chomping on einey's thigh. little guy nearly got his junk nom'ed off.
i calmly found the location of our local 24/7 animal hospital and prepared myself for the supper coddling i was going give einey when i got home.
i got greeted at the door by a happy, tail-wagging einey. the little guy only got a couple scrapes on his underside.
after phone calls to dr. future, and ms. poof with the vet tech connections, we washed einey up and that was that. tomorrow he might get some neosporin and a little doggy diaper, but he shall live to see another day. by pup's a trooper.

yesterday we moved from our 1 bedroom apartment into a 10' x 5' storage unit. Patrick is very good at tetrising boxes together.
Einey got really tired. He cuddled up with his new baby the whole ride to Jersey.

my office overlooks the ed sullivan theater, home of the late show. on show days around 3pm, a crowd gathers outside the theater and starts cheering at the top of their lungs. today, the crazies are starting early and i want to drop a 1/2 scale resin superman bust on their heads.
